Alan Turing Year Celebrations

We are delighted to be a member of the subcommittee for the Alan Turing Year, which is happening in 2012. Turing was an amazing mathematician, cryptanalyst and pioneer of computer science who helped with the British War effort at Bletchley Park, developed the earliest computers and yet was wholly shunned and misused by society for his homosexuality. This inspirational figure in being celebrated through a number of events and conferences throughout 2012 and we are really excited about getting involved in the project.

We've just sent the above book off to New York as part of the Fiction Project run by the Brooklyn Art Library. Bex and I had been writing a book together for the past few months, a story told through letters that we passed back and forth to each other. When the chance to be part of this project came up we thought this would fit it perfectly. Using the pages as pockets/envelopes we hand wrote each letter, distinguishing the different characters through a variety of designed papers. There will eventually be an online version of the story to read so watch this space!

Poems Book

This month we were commission to bind a collection of poems. The hard back book contained 19 poems with illustrations and smaller embellishments throughout, finished off with a dust jacket matching the decorative endpapers.
